Skiing Injury Physiotherapy and Ski Fitness in Clapham
Twisted your knee on the slopes, hurt your thumb in a fall, or want to get your legs ready before your ski trip? Olivia offers ski injury physiotherapy and pre-ski strength work for women at our Clapham clinic.
Common Skiing and Snowboarding Injuries
As part of our sports physiotherapy for women, Olivia treats skiing and snowboarding injuries in Clapham, and helps you prepare before your trip with strength and balance training.
Knee Ligament Injuries
Twisting falls are a common cause of knee ligament injuries, including the ACL and MCL. See ACL and knee ligament injuries and meniscus tears.
Skier's Thumb
A fall with your hand in a ski pole strap can injure the ligament at the base of your thumb. This needs medical assessment, and physiotherapy helps afterwards. See our hand physiotherapy page.
Shoulder Injuries
Falls can cause shoulder dislocations and rotator cuff injuries, especially in snowboarding. See shoulder dislocation and rotator cuff.
Wrist Fractures
Falling on an outstretched hand is a common snowboarding injury. See our wrist fracture rehabilitation page.
Getting Ski Fit
Building leg strength, endurance and balance before your trip can help you enjoy the slopes and feel more in control. Olivia can build a pre-ski programme around your fitness.
Rehab After Surgery
If you needed surgery after a ski injury, Olivia can guide your rehab. See our post-surgery rehabilitation page.

- I was treated abroad. Can you continue my rehab?
Yes. Bring any scans, letters or notes from your treatment and Olivia will build your rehab plan from there.
- When should I start getting ski fit?
Ideally a few weeks before your trip, to give your legs time to get stronger.
- Can I ski after an ACL injury?
Many people do, after full rehab. Olivia will help you work towards the strength and control you need.
- Do I need a scan after a ski injury?
Not always. If you have significant swelling, instability or cannot bear weight, you may need a medical assessment and scan.
- Do I need a referral?
No, you can book directly with Olivia without a referral.
What our patients say
What I’ve appreciated most is how comfortable and at ease she makes you feel. She is kind, understanding and non judgemental, which makes talking about things that can sometimes feel quite personal so much easier. She always takes the time to listen and explains everything clearly, and the exercises are tailored to what I feel comfortable with.
I’m really grateful for all her support and would definitely recommend Olivia to anyone looking for postnatal or pelvic floor support.
