Triathlon Injury Physiotherapy for Women in Clapham
Juggling swim, bike and run training and picking up niggles? Olivia offers triathlon injury physiotherapy for women at our Clapham clinic, from your first sprint triathlon to Ironman.
Common Triathlon Injuries
As part of our sports physiotherapy for women, Olivia treats triathletes in Clapham. Training for three sports adds up, so she looks at your whole training week as well as your injury.
Running Injuries
Running is where most triathlon injuries happen, such as knee, shin and Achilles pain. See our running injuries page.
Swimming Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain from increasing your swim volume. See our swimming injuries page.
Cycling Knee and Back Pain
Knee, back and neck pain from long hours on the bike. See our cycling injuries page.
Bone Stress Injuries
High training volume without enough fuel can increase the risk of stress fractures. See our bone health page.
Leaking During Training
Leaking when running or jumping is common in active women and is treatable. See our urinary incontinence page.
Managing Your Training Load
Injuries often happen when total training increases quickly across all three sports. Olivia can help you plan a sustainable build.
How Physiotherapy Helps
Olivia will help you:
- Treat your injury while keeping you training where possible
- Build strength to support your swim, bike and run
- Balance your training across all three sports
- Plan your build up to race day
What Happens at Your First Appointment
Your first appointment lasts 60 minutes and takes place in a private room at our Clapham clinic. Olivia will:
- Talk through your training week, race plans and symptoms
- Assess your injury, strength and how you move
- Explain what she has found and agree a plan with you
- Give you exercises and a clear plan to get back to your sport

- Can I keep training with an injury?
Often, by shifting load to the sports that do not aggravate it. Olivia will help you plan this.
- Should I do strength training for triathlon?
Strength training can help you cope with training load. Olivia can build a programme that fits your week.
- When should I see a physio before a race?
As early as possible. Getting a niggle checked weeks before race day gives you more options.
- Do you treat open water swimmers?
Yes. Shoulder and neck problems from open water swimming are treated the same way as pool swimming injuries.
- Do I need a referral?
No, you can book directly with Olivia without a referral.
What our patients say
What I’ve appreciated most is how comfortable and at ease she makes you feel. She is kind, understanding and non judgemental, which makes talking about things that can sometimes feel quite personal so much easier. She always takes the time to listen and explains everything clearly, and the exercises are tailored to what I feel comfortable with.
I’m really grateful for all her support and would definitely recommend Olivia to anyone looking for postnatal or pelvic floor support.
